Description

Matai/ribbonwood/kowhai forest and riparian edge with weed control and restoration plantings, including threatened plant species. Track. Animal pest control. QEII Covenant.

Derek Turnbull spent many hours releasing and planting in 'The Corridor' which joins Sherwood Forest to DoC's Marshall Reserve.
The YMCA Cons Corp have regularly assisted with planting, track maintenance and potting up seedlings at Sherwood Forest.
Elderberry was the main target weed, however Chilean flame creeper was also controlled in 2007, 2008.
A Fenn trap is a deadly weapon on stoats.
A 2008 Forest and Bird trip admiring the towering matai. The revegetation beneath started with a grass sward in 2003.
