Vision

To promote Southland ecological restoration projects, and to provide a network for community groups, volunteers and organisations.

Objectives

  1. To provide information that people new to restoration can use in their own projects.
  2. Enable the means for website visitors to access contact details of a restoration project to discuss or view that project.
  3. To attract volunteers to projects in their area by raising awareness of projects.
  4. To promote related events for existing projects, and to people new to restoration.
  5. To show where the various councils and agencies are helping out with restoration in Southland.

This website realises the vision of Mike Peters, the driving force behind NZERN (New Zealand Ecological Restoration Network).

An extensive trapline exists over the project area, using a variety of traps, including the DOC 200's seen here.
