Description

Restoration riparian planting on the Lumsden Creek as it travels through the town and to the river. Planting was started in 2019 in the centre of Lumsden at the old railway bridge and has continued downstream with planting sessions in Autumn and Spring 2020 - 2022. Planting will continue for the next few years - details of planting sessions can be found on our website or facebook page (facebook.com/ReforestSouthland). The Lumsden creek is home to two species of endangered native fish; Gollum galaxias and Southern Flathead gollums.
