Bushy Point Big Planting Day

15 September 2024

Where: Entrance off No: 5 Bryson Road (Estuary end)

When: Arrive 9.50 a.m. for a 10 a.m. start

FREE BBQ from 12 noon

One thousand plants are ready and waiting. Help our community to grow a native forest!

What we need you to bring:
• Gardening gloves
• Spade
• Appropriate footwear and clothing for the conditions
• Drink bottle and snacks

The restoration of Bushy Point is Otatara Landcare Group’s flagship project for our community. Be part of it by helping on the day! And/or if you can help move plants onto site next week, send an email and we will let you know where and when we need help.

2005 - Spraying to reduce gorse and grass competition before planting begins. Note use of marker dye makes it easy to see where you've been.

Phillips St Reserve, Invercargill

Ponds were created to improve whitebait spawning grounds. Flax was planted following pond excavation.
